Today, on 7 December, Platov international airport (a part of Airports of Regions) received its first regular passenger flight. It is the first time in the modern history of domestic aviation, when the services for airlines and passengers are transferred from one airport to other, an absolutely new one, located 30 km far from Rostov-on-Don, without interruption of operations.
Pobeda Airlines became the first airline with a liner landed in the new Don harbour. The low-cost airlines’ aircraft landed in Platov as scheduled at 11:00. The aircraft starts out for Moscow at 12.00. During the first three hours of operation, Platov received and sent 12 flights.
Simultaneously with the start of operations, all passenger services were launched: parking, shops and cafes, a pharmacy, luggage lockers and baggage packaging desks.
