Just on the first day of operation, the passenger traffic of the Platov International Airport (a part of Airports of Regions) amounted to 652,956 passengers, which is 16.5% more than in the same period last year. From 7 December 2017 to 6 March 2018, 543,775 passengers (+ 16.7%) were served on the domestic flights, and on the international routes the traffic grew by 15.8% and amounted to 109,181 passengers.
For the first three months of operation of the new airport, the total number of take-off and landing operations has made 6,132, of which 70% have been serviced by air bridges. The rest of the flights were serviced by self-propelled air stairs and apron buses because of the long turning time and the design features of the aircraft.
It is planned that if the passenger traffic growth rate is preserved at the level of 15%, the new Platov airport will serve more than 3 million passengers in 2018.
