Platov international airport (part of the Airports of Regions holding) has won the Air Gates of Russia Awards in two nominations: Best Airport in the Category of 2-4 Million Passengers a Year and Best Design Solution. For the fifth time the awards were handed at the VII National Aviation Infrastructure Show NAIS 2020 in Moscow.
NAIS is the biggest national event for the entire industry of civil aviation, starting from aircraft operators and ending the airfield and transport infrastructure. The Air Gates of Russia Awards is called to celebrate most effectively developing Russian airports. The expert community including representatives of Russia’s leading airlines, heads of industry associations, leading journalists highlighting civil aviation — highly rated the achievements of Platov airport – above all, the prestigious international five-star Skytrax rating awarded to this hub. We should remind that in March 2019 Platov for the first time in the history of Russian aviation passed the audit of British experts and was honored with the highest international rating.
The aviation photographers – prize-winners of the photo contest organized by the National Air Transport Agency – were also handed their awards at the NAIS show. Expert in the ground service of airliners at Platov airport Erik Romanenko took the second prize in the Spotting nomination.
It should be noted that this year the Airports of Regions holding represented by Koltsovo, Kurumoch, Strigino, Platov and Gagarin international airports has won 8 Air Gates of Russia awards which is a record showing.
