Platov international airport (part of the Airports of Regions holding) has won the prestigious international German Design Award for the multimedia exposition Platov and Its Time created by Loremlpsum agency. This prestigious international award is annually conferred on projects contributing something truly innovative to international design. The winner is selected by a competent jury including representatives of dozens of German companies and agencies, leading designers of Germany and Europe. The awards presentation event was held on the previous weekend in Frankfurt.
German Design Award is not the first prestigious international award celebrating the multimedia exposition of Platov airport. In June 2019 it was honored with the American SEGD (Society for Experiential Graphic Design) award: the jury described this exposition in the Don air hub as “a bold and unexpected gesture in the airport environment that involved the spectator in a historic drama show.”
Platov airport’s multimedia exposition is not just the airport’s decoration or its entertainment part. During the two years it has deserved the status of being one of the most outstanding and extraordinary sights in the land of Don. It has become a good tradition for Platov’s guests and passengers to have their pictures taken with the Panorama of Don or Footloose South circular video installations in the background, the best evidence being numerous posts in social media.
Just to remind: the multimedia exposition comprises five parts: Panorama of Don, Patriotic War of 1812, Footloose South, Through Ages, as well as fractal portraits.
