7 new cafes, bars and shops are opened in the passenger terminal of Rostov-on-Don Airport («Airports of Regions» holding company) as part of the overall strategy for the modernization of the airport infrastructure. The renovated passenger terminal now accommodates Rostov catering and federal and regional retail operators.
AIR CAFÉ has begun to work in the domestic airside area, it invites passengers and airport guests to feast the original taste of premium brand ice cream. Soon the Khlebnayay Lavka, a well-known Rostov network will open here its cafes offering the fans of fresh pastries to enjoy the taste of French baguette, croissants and aromatic coffee. Passengers, who have passed the pre-flight inspection, will be able to comfortably spend the time while waiting for the flight in the extended domestic airside area on the 2nd floor of the passenger terminal, and visit the fast food restaurant A-Cafe offering a wide selection of salads, appetizers, soups and main dishes, or the Canyon cafe offering Russian cuisine.
On the 2nd floor of the international departure lounge the first visitors can appreciate the hospitality of the trendy, cozy and modern bar Carlsberg. The Carlsberg-BAR - a new cost-friendly bar with an elegant interior and high-quality cuisine, a fine selection of high-quality beers and a variety of wines (including local). In the near future the Canyon café will update its menu for international passengers, and a new duty-free shop will open by the end of the year.
«A new concept of catering and retail areas is based on the modern understanding of the quality standard in the field of services», noted MC’s Airports of Regions director for non-aviation activities Tatiana Bateneva. «We selected all concessionaires on a competitive basis, some of them have worked at the airports, and others are successfully operating in the center of Rostov-on-Don and know the preferences of local residents and visitors, so we are sure that Rostov Airport’s passengers will be offered high quality service and a wide array of choices. In addition, we cooperate with the partners on a regular basis and monitor the implementation of our standards, and starting from 2015 conduct annual passenger surveys, based on which we will carry out corrective actions together with our partners».
The extended retail area of the domestic lounge is also represented by the shops working at Rostov-on-Don and other Russian airports such as TerraKot, Morozko and Gifts of the Caspian Sea. On the 2nd floor of the terminal in the domestic lounge the TerraKot shop offers passengers a wide selection of exceptional handmade products: to keep your memories about Rostov-on-Don you can buy designer gifts, souvenirs made of ceramics, porcelain, and pottery. A new fur shop Morozko has been opened: men's, women's and children's jackets, toys, headphones, mitts and gloves, various accessories - all made of fur. As well as the absolute bestseller - leather helmets with goggles stylized as aviator helmets. Another new retail area – the Gifts of the Caspian Sea shop offers passengers a great range of caviar, delicious high-value fish species and a variety of fish specialties.
By the end of September on the 1st floor of the domestic landside area another TerraKot gift shop will be opened and before the end of the year 2 mini-markets Good News with traditional airport assortment of travel goods, books and print media will start their work.
Combination of the general brand concept of with functional and planning features of the passenger terminal building was implemented by the Russian design bureau NefaResearch, which had previously won prestigious architectural awards for the design of airport terminals in other holding’s airports: Samara and Ekaterinburg.
