Rostov-on-Don Airport renews its fleet of airfield maintenance equipment

As part of  preparation for the autumn-and-winter period the fleet of airfield maintenance equipment at Rostov-on-Don Airport (belongs to Airports of Regions Holding Company) was supplemented by two Norwegian snow sweepers from OVERAASEN, one of the world's leading manufacturers of snow removal equipment. The blowers are designed for removing snow and ice from the surface of the runway, the taxiways and the apron.

The Mercedes Actros based trucks are fitted with a three-section snow plough 6 meters in width, a sweeping brush and a powerful fan; operating speed - up to 65 km/h. These characteristics allow for a high efficiency and quality of the airfield surfaces cleaning.

For reference: all fleet of aircraft handling and airfield maintenance equipment of the airport has passed the necessary maintenance and is prepared to work in the winter period. In addition to snow ploughs, winter operations will involve a snow blower, complex cleaning equipment, bulldozers, graders and 3 deicers - special machines for processing aircraft with the anti-icing fluid. By the end of this year, the airport will have acquired another new snow blower.
