The Platov International Airport (member of the Airports of Regions Holding) received a prestigious Best Office Awards architectural award in the nomination of Business Space in Public Interior for the design of the domestic flights business lounge. 120 projects have been nominated for the award in total this year. Despite that, the international business lounge of the Platov Airport was also shortlisted among the nominees.
NEFA ARCHITECTS bureau developed the design for the domestic flights business lounge. Space artistic appearance reflects an idea of fruitfulness of the Don land, underlying the airport interiors concept. Design developers were inspired by beauty of spring steppe, full of wonderful flowers and grass. Architects created visual imagery with stems of pillars and a band of flowers - petals on the ceiling by changing the perception scale. Concept graphics is supported by other verticals: bar counter and information stand legs and wide armchairs made of board strips on the podium.
Best Office Awards is granted annually to the best Russian and foreign office designs. This is the most prestigious award in Russia in the sphere of corporate interiors design, office real estate and public spaces. International jury of the contest comprises several dozens of experts: architects, office real estate consultants, developers, general contractors, and relevant mass media. They evaluate projects in 11 nominations and select the Grand Prix.
This has already been the fourth Best Office Awards for the Airports of Regions. Best Office Awards were conferred earlier to the Koltsovo Airport (Ekaterinburg) in 2014, to Kurumoch (Samara) in 2015, and to Strigino (Nizhniy Novgorod) in 2017.
